Jeff Schneidereit Architects inc. (JSA) was established in 1991 in Santa Rosa, California after work with several firms in Santa Rosa and the Bay Area. Known as EPIC Architectural Group, our first projects were production and custom homes, including Affordable Housing. Other projects included Restaurants, Office Buildings and business park revitalization.
In 1995, we designed a custom home on a ranch in Colorado for a client who was moving east. Also feeling the call of the mountains, we moved the firm to Pagosa Springs, Colorado and re-named it Terra Tactile Architecture: Architecture in touch with Earth. In addition to maintaining a presence in the Bay Area, the firm grew in staff and projects, including Shopping Centers, Restaurants, Offices and many custom homes.
Frustrated by builders that would freeze like a deer in the headlights when the saw a new detail and would try to overcharge for new simpler details, Jeff Schneidereit obtained his California contractors license. Jeff had been building houses for years, but now offered Design/Build services. We built a retail building and many custom homes that we designed in Colorado.
Having issues with high-altitude living, in 2000, we relocated to the California Central Coast, the roots of our college education. California requiring the name of the architect in the name of the business, this time we changed the firm to Jeff Schneidereit Architects. Coinciding with the age of digital images, we have been producing the projects most featured on this website. Since then, we have honed our skills in computer modeling for presentation and energy use.
Our history of long client relationships and repeat project referrals illustrates this technical competence and attention to owner needs. In the past five years we have completed over ten projects larger than one million dollars in construction value: every project was successfully designed, bid and constructed to the satisfaction of the owner.
